Ran Feng
Assistant Professor
Earth Sciences
Background
-
Growing up in southwest China, I studied meteorology and climate at Nanjing University, and Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. I became fascinated by paleoclimatology and decided to work towards a PhD on past climate change at the University of Michigan. I am currently interested in cloud and precipitation processes in warm climate states, and the interactions between the hydrological cycle and mountain uplift. I actively collaborate with geochemists, paleontologists, and geophysicists to explore terrestrial climate, mammalian evolution, and plate tectonics.
